Dennis, the founder, has always loved to bake. He has been baking pies since the age of 12 for friends and relatives during Chinese New Year and Christmas. Dennis gave up a business in electronics to pursue his dream of being a professional baker – In 1996, he went to New Zealand to be a pie-apprentice and hone his pie baking skills. The result is quality, home baked, traditional pies that taste just like the pies Grandma used to bake.

Kenneth, the partner, is in charge of running the everyday business of the café. He knows the ingredients and recipes of each pie like the back of his hand. Thanks to Kenneth’s dedication, Cottage Pies has maintained a high level of quality in its pies throughout its 18 years of existence. Only the freshest top grade ingredients are accepted.

Both Dennis and Kenneth believe in keeping prices affordable so that as many as possible can share their love of New Zealand-styled pies.
